PEMA Membership Eligibility:

1. What is process equipment? Primary examples of process equipment are agitators, mixers, the many types of crushing, grinding and screen equipment, vacuum and pressure filters, centrifuges, furnaces, kilns, dryers, sedimentation and classification devices. Included are all the principal equipment required for water conditioning, treatment of industrial and municipal wastes, metallurgical processing, pulp and paper production, food processing, production of petrochemicals and many other similar processing operations.

2. What are the PEMA® membership criteria? Process Equipment Manufacturers' Association members manufacture the equipment required when using physical or chemical methods for mechanical and/or thermal treatment or processing of a raw material or product. Included is equipment offered by a manufacturer who engineers and supplies systems and/or products related to and used in conjunction with primary process equipment.

Excluded are manufacturers' representatives or distributors who package process equipment into process equipment systems.

During the member applicant review process, open-ended consideration is given to the manufacturer roles controlled and filled by the corporate entity applying for membership: Sell, assemble, transfer title/liability, provide after-sales service, stock parts, test, design systems, engineer applications, and specify standards. Of these functions controlled by the entity, not all of the aforementioned roles need to be performed in-house.

What do members receive from PEMA®? Senior level executive development within a discrete manufacturer sector – PEMA® meetings feature top-notch speakers … Networking at two to three meetings per year … space discounts at the International Powder & Bulk Solids Show, Process Technology Expos South and West … ListServ … Quarterly statistics reports … biennial executive compensation survey … opportunity to exhibit in PEMA® member pavilions at international exhibitions … company marketing to potential customers via members’ listings on the PEMA® web site … association newsletter … exposure to extracurricular activities such as membership in the Product Liability Prevention & Defense Group and attendance at multi-industry seminars for manufacturers.
