PEMA Membership Eligibility:

  

To be eligible for membership, a company must devote an important part of operations to the manufacture of process equipment.  For purposes of membership, "process equipment" as defined by the Board of Directors shall mean the equipment required when using physical or chemical methods for mechanical and/or thermal treatment or processing of a raw material or product.  Primary examples of process equipment are agitators, mixers, the many types of crushing, grinding and screen equipment, vacuum and pressure filters, centrifuges, furnaces, kilns, dryers, sedimentation and classification devices.  Included are all the principal equipment required for water conditioning, treatment of industrial and municipal wastes, metallurgical processing, pulp and paper production, food processing, production of petro-chemicals and other similar processing operations.  Also included is equipment offered by a manufacturer who engineers and supplies systems related to and used in conjunction with primary process equipment.  Specifically excluded from the definition of "process equipment" are products such as pumps, valves, piping, instrumentation and motors.  Also excluded are manufacturers representatives or distributors who package various process equipment into process systems.  

  

In addition, a company must fulfill all of the following:  Sell, assemble, transfer title/liability, provide after-sales service and stock parts - as well as perform at least one of the following functions:  Test, design systems, engineer applications and/or be the exclusive distributor.
